Privacy Policy

The short version

• We collect what you give us and the basics your browser sends — nothing more.
• We use it to answer you, quote coverage, and service policies we help you get.
• We share it with insurance carriers and the vendors that run our email and security — not with data brokers. We do not sell your personal information.
• You can ask what we hold, correct it, delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you.
• This site runs no advertising or analytics trackers.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details — name, address, phone number, email.
• Information needed to quote or enroll — date of birth, household size, income range for subsidy eligibility, Medicare number and coverage start dates, current plan details, and the medications or providers you want covered.
• Anything else you choose to tell us in a message, email, or conversation.

Some of that is sensitive information, including health-related details. We ask for it only when it’s needed to find or service coverage, and we handle it accordingly.

Information collected automatically

Like any website, our servers record standard request data — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — used for security, troubleshooting, and keeping the site running.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses strictly necessary cookies only — the session and security tokens that make pages work and protect forms from abuse. We do not run advertising trackers, behavioral remarketing, or third-party analytics on this site, and our fonts are served from our own servers rather than a third-party network.

Some pages embed third-party content — Google Maps, Microsoft Bookings for scheduling, and media players such as Spotify or YouTube. When you load or interact with those, the provider may set its own cookies and receive your IP address under its own privacy policy. Where we use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect a form from spam, it processes limited technical signals to tell humans from bots.

Because we don’t track you across sites, there’s nothing for a browser “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off — but we honor opt-out preference signals where applicable law requires it.

Why we use your information

• To respond to you and answer questions.
• To compare plans, prepare quotes, and submit applications you ask us to submit.
• To service coverage we helped you obtain — renewals, changes, claims questions.
• To send information you requested, such as a guide or newsletter you signed up for.
• To meet legal, regulatory, and carrier requirements, and to protect against fraud.

Who we share it with

• Insurance carriers and their administrators — to quote, apply for, and service coverage on your behalf.
• Service providers who work for us — for example our email delivery provider and security services. They may only use your information to perform that work.
• Regulators, or when the law requires it — including responding to lawful requests, protecting our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep information as long as needed to serve you and to satisfy the record-keeping periods insurance regulators and carriers require, then dispose of it securely. Request deletion at any time and we will honor it except where law requires us to retain a record.

How we protect it

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — but we take the responsibility seriously.

Your privacy rights

Comprehensive privacy laws now apply in many states, including several we serve. Rather than make you work out which rules cover you, we extend these core rights to everyone who contacts us:

• Know and access — what we hold about you and how it’s used.
• Correct — fix information that’s wrong.
• Delete — subject to records we’re legally required to keep.
• Portability — get a copy in a usable format.
• Opt out — of marketing contact, and of any sale or targeted advertising (we do neither).
• Non-discrimination — exercising a right never changes the service or price you get.

To exercise any of these, email info@fikainsurance.com or call (864) 397-8866. We’ll verify your identity before acting, respond within the timeframe your state’s law requires, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we decline a request we’ll explain why, and you may appeal by replying to our response; state attorneys general also accept complaints.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights — for example, California residents may request the specific categories of information collected and disclosed, and may exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA and the “Shine the Light” law.

Calls, texts, and email

If you give us your number, you’re agreeing that a licensed agent may contact you about insurance, including by phone or text at a wireless number; message and data rates may apply, and consent is never a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out of texts, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or just tell us. Calls may be recorded or monitored for quality and compliance where required — you’ll be told at the time.

Children

This site isn’t directed to children under 16 and we don’t knowingly collect their information. We do collect information about covered family members, including children, when a parent or guardian gives it to us to obtain family coverage. If you believe a child provided information directly, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Other sites

Our site links to carriers, government resources such as Medicare.gov and HealthCare.gov, and other third parties. Their privacy practices are their own — please read their policies.

Google services

Where we display Google Maps or business reviews retrieved from Google, your use of those features is also subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear.
